and sin would, later on, be transferred in turn to the Lord Jesus Christ. The sinner would then have to take the sharp knife offered by the Priest and, while the Priest held back the head of the victim, slit the throat of the animal. So to make the application, here is what we too must understand. It was our sins that nailed Jesus Christ to the tree. Each and every one of us had our share in that horrible, bloody death that He had to suffer. The Lord Jesus Christ did not die for His sins; He died
